The Hybrid Photographer Essential gear and tips to capture knockout stills and video

Cotton Carrier Camera Vest
Japan is one of the most picturesque countries on earth. When I first traveled there 20 years ago, it was with a still camera shooting film. Now I have the ability to record what I see and experience in both high-quality digital stills and HD video with one camera. The hybrid revolution has made this possible.

In the professional arena, there's an exponentially growing call for multimedia production from a single source, and even if you don't make your living this way, you can add an extra dimension to your travel photography by including video in the mix. And though the latest HDSLRs make it convenient to capture both still and video, don't expect to get great videos right out of the box. For the best-quality video, you're going to want some additional tools to improve both picture and sound quality.

Kessler Pocket Dolly
I picked up some valuable tips on shooting HDSLRs during a three-day EOS Moving Image Workshop put on by Createasphere, a company dedicated to presenting the state-of-the-art tools and people in the digital production and postproduction realm. The workshop, led by notable cinematographers, focused on ways to make the new breed of hybrid cameras cinema-friendly, and included a comprehensive overview of hybrid camera production and post workflow.

Glidecam X-10
To demonstrate the capabilities of HDSLRs, we were shown a montage of work created primarily with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 7D, including a grandiose wedding shot in India, Christopher Morris' black-and-white, selective-focus documentary on President Obama, a dramatic piece by Philip Bloom in Europe with stunning night shots, magnificent footage by Bruce Dorn of horses running through snow and a Saturday Night Live opening sequence.

Analyzing these impressive works, it becomes obvious that some video techniques are counterintuitive to our still photo sensibilities, such as not moving the camera and letting action go out of frame. Motion in the video world is often done by edit, not by moving the camera.

CAMERA SETTINGS
Get familiar with your camera and its video options. Experiment with different settings to see how they affect the look of the video beforehand, so you'll be familiar with the controls and will know what to expect.

Tips And Trik Of Photography

Last Drop by ahermin Tips And Trik Of Photography
I saw an interesting grabber headline on the cover of a popular British magazine photos the next day – Secrets in advanced composition. After taking a picture of what seems an eternity and was an avid reader of all things photographic, I felt pretty sure that I knew very little about the composition, but it is certainly curious to know “The Secret”!
I just think that here in my hands, photography is the key to Valhalla. Recorded in just what I needed to know, put my picture on par with some of the giants of photography, which certainly were aware of the “Secret”. So, waiting with sweaty palms, duly coughed my money and down to find “The Secret”.
Rob GITS! It seems that is not supported by more than one article on the use of unnecessarily long main lines, the rule of thirds, framing and balance. As far as I can “Advanced” bit is to tell only a superposition of some graphics (arrows) to show the “eye flow’of. Not to mention the” Golden Section “, and this is not difficult (this is very similar slightly different rules than others and certainly do not need to worry about).
So it was. One great thing. But my back. Simplicity. Photography is not complicated, really. Once you get the basics down the rest is pretty simple it.Yes refining, you can read about other topics, and everyone has their own needs flash, macro, night photography, etc., etc., but these are all sub- genres within the title of the photo. You still need the basics under your belt before you move forward in the use of new equipment and techniques.
When shooting with flash, you need light, composition, shutter speed, aperture, ISO understand. In the macro, you need to understand lighting, composition, shutter speed, aperture, ISO. The night photography you need light, composition, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and if you do not clearly understand, you need light, composition, shutter speed, aperture, ISO understand.

Monochromatic Love Exploring the virtues of a simplified palette

I'm a big fan of black-and-white photography. Perhaps it's the poignancy that captivates me, or maybe the nostalgia factor. Whatever the reason, there's something about the absence of color that draws me in.

Black-and-white or grayscale images are often called monochromatic. The word monochromatic is defined as "of or having one color." But while the term is used for grayscale photography, it can include a much broader body of work, as well. Although a monochromatic palette only includes a limited number of shades, the tones of the single (or near single) color you choose to use in your photographs is entirely up to you and can cover the entire spectrum of the color chart.

Personally, I gravitate toward neutral hues, and my tendency toward the monochromatic runs deeper than just photography, as it's often visible in my wardrobe choices, as well as my dinner plate. I have a habit of wearing tan and tan, and this uncanny way of cooking up (literally) an entire meal of one solitary shade. Despite what you may think, it's totally unplanned. But there has to be something to it because I often find myself shooting photographs in much the same way.
